Hello,
I am Nina Barnes and I am running for re-election because of you and the hard working people in this community who desire to live and raise their families in a healthy and safe city with opportunities for their children and grandchildren to grow, obtain good educations, good paying jobs and enjoy the benefits of living in Southern Utah.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you during these past 4 years. I understand the needs and challenges facing Cedar City. We are currently experiencing difficult times. As your council member, I am committed to continue doing what I can to attract higher paying jobs, services, and continue to make sure the city stays financially strong and continues to wisely plan for future growth. The citizens of Cedar City have always worked together and as we continue to do so I am confident we will thrive and prosper together too.
The actions of city government should always be grounded in the welfare of its citizens.

About the Barnes Family
Fourteen years ago my family chose to move to Cedar City because we wanted to raise our family in a university town that valued it's history, rural setting, recreational opportunities, arts, and education. We also wanted to be around people who valued community involvement and volunteerism. We believed Cedar had these qualities when we moved here and we now know that Cedar continues to embrace these same qualities. As your advocate, I will continue to work for you in making Cedar City a better place to live. During my time in Cedar City, I have worked hard at being a positive community advocate. Projects such as Park Discovery, Veteran's Park, the American Children's Christmas Festival, the Aquatic/Ball Field Complex, and the City Council have helped me to better understand the needs and challenges of Cedar City. I have always tried to be a strong voice for children and families and will continue to promote "quality lifestyle" for all who live here.
